Mission
The word Sol, meaning "sun" in Spanish and "earth" in French, embodies the ecological spirit of the company it represents. A simple word for a simple concept, Sol develops strategies with environmental, ethical, and economical value in an effort to preserve the planet's natural and social integrities. Sol incorporates the philosophies of ancient civilizations with today's modern ideas and practices to broaden the world of organic sustainability.
"This much we know: the earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites us all. Man did not weave the web of life; he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself."
- Chief Seatle, Suqwamish & Duwamish
Located in the Central Rocky Mountains near Vail, Colorado, Sol sees first hand the effects of a rapidly growing population and short-term planning without regard for future environmental consequences. Local observations, however, quickly turn to global concerns. Believing as Native Americans did many years ago, that we are all connected and bound together, Sol supports thinking globally and acting in anyway possible to preserve, protect, and maintain the planet's fragile ecosystem and social fabric. The planet as a whole faces mounting pressures threatening its environment and general health. It is Sol's objective to design environmental strategies that make organic sustainability more convenient and beneficial.
