Letter from the CEO

I am not really sure how to begin this, or end it for that matter. In fact I am not really sure how this works at all. What I do know is that I am beginning to discover who I want to be. Thirty years of life have directed me to the place I am now. I am not there yet, but can see the path I want to take. Led astray by life and a societal pressure that exists, it seems, in order to sway the dreams of humankind towards a more "conventional" existence, I lived knowing what it was that meant the most to me, but fearful of what may result from its pursuit.

Sometimes it takes a bit of a derailment to force life onto a different track. For me it was an Achilles tendon rupture I suffered in May while trying to make an NFL comeback with the New Orleans Saints. The injury, while halting the comeback and rendering me unfit to work at my current occupation of fire fighter in Vail, Colorado, gave me an opportunity. I was able to realize the importance of the mountains and the environment to my life, leading to the formation of a new company. Sol Organics is an environmental strategies company. Its focus is on helping the planet find balance through building and lifestyle programs. By considering the environmental and social impacts of the decisions we as citizens of the world make, Sol designs strategies to enhance and strengthen the planet as well as its ever growing population.
